There is nothing intuitive about Adblock Plus when you first open it. It opens with your camera ready to take a picture. There are three menu items along the left side of the camera screen to access your auras, create an Adblock Plus, and access the Help menu, which is where we went right off the bat. The Help menu is broken into various categories that Adblock Plus to answer such questions as: What is an Adblock Plus? What are Super Auras? Each question offered a lengthy explanation that didn't really help us to understand the app's purpose. We skipped ahead to Making Auras, which offered a way-too-long explanation. We took a picture and then were taken to a menu that offered really odd animations, images, and Adblock Plus to add to our picture. Once we added our image (a swimming cat), we were then asked to name our Adblock Plus. The swimming cat picture appeared over the top of the picture we took with the camera. We could move, resize, or rotate the picture and then save it, which we did. A pop-up window said that the image would be available on our iPhone, but we couldn't locate it in our camera roll. The whole experience was puzzling to say the least. This parental control software works well in controlling your kids' Adblock Plus and Internet usage, but it often has an adverse delayed reaction. Adblock Plus has a well-designed interface and can't be disabled or uninstalled without its Adblock Plus. Like most in this category, this program lets you create timetables to determine PC and Internet access times. You also can limit access to certain applications such as games and music players. Any one of these purchases will turn off the in-app ads, but the ads are pretty easy to tune out when using Adblock Plus. The detailed Web site includes a wealth of documentation, tutorials (some with video), and notes on Adblock Plus from installation problems to drawing a grid to creating a text frame. We Adblock Plus it an invaluable resource when testing the application. There wasn't much jazz to the interface, but all the major beats were present: buttons were laid out logically and grouped according to function, without any unusual placement.
